Waddentaxi Zeehond

As a complementary service to the regular timetable, Ms Zeehond sails to and from Vlieland and Terschelling at a number of set times. Ms Zeehond is a Wadden taxi which has a capacity of max. twelve persons. The Wadden taxi is furnished with comfortable seats, coffee and tea facilities and has plenty of room for luggage. 

Due to its speed the crossing with Ms Zeehond is a unique experience. It is possible to combine a trip on Ms Zeehond with a crossing by ferry.

Vlieland <<>> Terschelling

Waddentaxi Zeehond is happy to take you from Vlieland to Terschelling or vice versa. You will make the crossing in only 25 minutes.

Harlingen <<>> Vlieland / Terschelling

The crossing from Harlingen to Terschelling or Vlieland (or vice versa) takes approx. one hour.

Fares

Important to know

  • Ms Zeehond is not suitable for disabled people. We advise you to travel to Terschelling on the Ms Friesland or to Vlieland on the Ms Vlieland. Our fast ferries (Ms Koegelwieck and Ms Tiger) are also a good alternative for disabled travellers;
  • Combinations of outward and return crossings by regular ferry or fast ferry with crossings by ms Zeehond are possible. In the reservation process, step 4, the fare for your trip will be shown;
  • Children up to 10 years old are only allowed to travel in the presence of a responsible adult.

Embarkation

Embarkation point Harlingen

The Sas pier is situated quite near train station Harlingen Haven (Harbour) at a 3-minute walk from the Rederij Doeksen terminal in Harlingen.

Embarkation point Vlieland

The embarkation point for Ms Zeehond on Vlieland is situated on the Havenweg (Harbour road), near restaurant de Dining at the marina.

Embarkation point Terschelling

The embarkation point for Ms Zeehond on Terschelling is on the Willem Barentszkade.

Taxi transport Vlieland
On arrival on Vlieland, a taxi will be ready for you, if you should wish to make use of it. Both departure and arrival with ms Zeehond do not go through the terminals of van Rederij Doeksen.

Renting Ms Zeehond
Wadden taxi Ms Zeehond can also be rented exclusively. An exclusive sailing by Wadden taxi is an event in itself and very suitable for e.g. weddings, stag and hen parties, business trips, family outings, confereneces and seal viewing trips. Book an exclusive crossing and determine your own departure time.

Good to know

  • For a trip with Ms Zeehond you should be present 15 minutes prior to sailing;
  • Alterations and cancellations are not always free of charge, further information;
  • Ms Zeehond is not easily accessible to the disabled. It is impossible to take a wheelchair or a mobility scooter aboard;
  • Catering facilities aboard are limited. Of course we can get you a cup of coffee or tea or a nice piece of cake or a cookie;
  • Ms Zeehond is suitable for a maximum of twelve persons;
  • It is possible to combine your crossing on Ms Zeehond with a crossing by regular or fast ferry;
  • Make sure you have your ticket on hand;
  • Both departure and arrival with Ms Zeehond do not go through the terminals of van Rederij Doeksen. You will make use of special embarkation points in Harlingen and Vlieland.
  • For taking extra luggage, a bike etc, we refer you to the general Fares page;
  • There is no room for cars or motorbikes aboard the Ms Zeehond;
  • Discount codes are not valid for reservations of crossings on Ms Zeehond.
