Special loose items and extra baggage

You are allowed unlimited hold luggage per person. You do not need to book a baggage ticket for extra baggage, with the exception of special individual items including a (separate) bicycle trailer, hand cart and sports items larger than 140x60x50 cm.

Rates for special individual items 2026:

  • Separate bicycle trailer with or without luggage € 19,62
  • Handcart with or without luggage € 15,50
  • Wheelbarrow, hand truck and pet stroller € 15,50
  • Sports items including kayak, canoe, SUP, surfboard and kiteboard (larger than 140x60x50cm), tent and musical instrument larger than 3 meters € 19,62
  • Other items including outdoor furniture, tent in bag or duffel bag (larger than 140x60x50cm up to 3 meters), musical instrument (larger than 140x60x50cm up to 3 meters) € 15.50

Important to know

  • Mentioned prices include 9% VAT.
  • Only when a trailer is taken for recreative purposes (such as transporting tents / luggage) can you take it to Vlieland.
  • You can only take a trailer or cart on the regular ferry.
  • You can only make a reservation for a trailer by telephone.
  • Trailer without pulling vehicle (these are trailers that don’t carry their own license plates) max. weight 750 kg, max. 2,00 m wide, max. 2,60 m high.
  • A trailer that requires a license plate, can only be booked in combination with a car. For this, you are required to request a T-exemption from the municipality of Vlieland. The maximum measurements: from and exceeding 2,60 m x 2,00 m (hxw) in height and width.
