From April 2022, Rijkswaterstaat (part of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management) will be carrying out major work around the terminals. The work will take several months. We wish to ensure that passengers to and from the islands experience little or no inconvenience during the work. We would like to keep you informed via our website. Please read the information below carefully before you travel. Welcome aboard!
Renovation and maintenance
Improvement of quays and sheet piling
Broadly speaking, these improvements are:
- The sites will be re-asphalted and classified and the mooring posts will be conserved again.
- To protect the function of the sheet pile, 450 anodes are installed (cathodic protection). As a result, the sheet piles will rust less quickly.
- The car and passenger bridges are being overhauled. For this they will be temporarily removed and replaced.
Work will start in Harlingen in April 2022. In the course of the year, work will also start on Terschelling. If everything goes according to plan, work on Vlieland starts in 2023.
